OUR PROGRAMS
PoD PALS
Pod Pals is an introductory media program inspired by the idea of old-school pen pals—learning through communication, curiosity, and connection. Designed for younger participants, the program uses podcasting and sound-based storytelling to help youth discover their voice, share ideas, and build confidence through creative exchange.
By treating communication as a form of discovery, Pod Pals encourages young people to listen, respond, and express themselves with intention.

Early Voices. Lasting Confidence
POD PALS
-
Participants explore the basics of audio storytelling through age-appropriate, hands-on activities that include voice recording, sound effects, interviews, and short-form podcast creation. Sessions emphasize imagination and collaboration, helping youth understand how stories are shaped and shared through sound.
Just as pen pals once connected people through letters, Pod Pals connects young creators through conversation, curiosity, and storytelling.
-
While playful in approach, Pod Pals builds foundational skills that support long-term growth. Participants strengthen communication, listening, critical thinking, and collaboration—skills that carry into school, creative pursuits, and everyday life.
For some youth, Pod Pals becomes an early introduction to media arts and a pathway into more advanced BHAC programs as they grow older.
Who Participates
Pod Pals serves younger youth who are curious about storytelling, sound, and creative expression. No prior experience is required. The program is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to first-time creators.
