Connection & Preparation
B.H.R.H.
-
The Hub integrates programming that supports both everyday connection and emergency preparedness. Youth programming, intergenerational activities, and community gatherings keep the space active and welcoming throughout the year. During periods of extreme weather or other emergencies, the Hub functions as a known and trusted site where community members can gather, access information, and receive support.
Bilingual radio broadcasting through KQBH 101.5 FM plays a critical role in this work, ensuring timely, culturally responsive communication reaches residents in both English and Spanish.
-
The Boyle Heights Resilience Hub emphasizes proactive preparation rather than crisis response alone. Programming includes training and resources that help residents understand how to prepare for emergencies, stay informed, and look out for one another.
By centering trust, familiarity, and shared responsibility, the Hub strengthens community readiness in ways that are accessible, human-centered, and grounded in lived experience.
Who the Hub Serves
The Resilience Hub serves youth, families, seniors, and community members across Boyle Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. Programming is inclusive and responsive, recognizing that resilience is built through connection, preparation, and care.
