Bridge

Academy

Movement

Bridge Academy Movement (BAM) supports justice-impacted young people as they prepare for and navigate reentry through creative workforce pathways. The program connects participants to paid opportunities, hands-on training, and consistent support that helps them build stability, confidence, and direction as they return home.

BAM recognizes that reentry is not a single moment, but an ongoing process that requires trust, time, and consistent support.

Support That Extends Beyond the Job

In addition to workforce development, BAM provides wraparound support that helps participants address immediate needs, strengthen personal wellbeing, and stay connected to long-term opportunity. Much of this work happens through relationship-building, group reflection, and one-on-one support.

BAM support includes:

  •  Space for reflection, emotional regulation, and stress management through conversation, creative practice, and trusted relationships.

  • Facilitated circles that build communication skills, accountability, and peer connection.

  • Guidance before release and continued support after returning home to reduce disruption during reentry.

  • Letters of support, court attendance, communication with families, and coordination with judges, prosecutors, probation officers, and legal teams.

  • Connection to others with shared lived experience, fostering mutual accountability and encouragement.

  • Support accessing school enrollment, diplomas, job placement, and training opportunities.

  • Help obtaining identification documents including birth certificates, state IDs, Social Security cards, bank accounts, and other essentials.

  • Access to a four-bed transitional housing apartment for current and alumni BAM participants, when available.

Relationship and

Accountability

BAM is led by Navigators, Teaching Artists,  and staff who bring lived experience, cultural knowledge, and consistency into the reentry process. The program emphasizes responsibility, growth, and agency—while recognizing the systemic barriers many young people face.

Many participants continue into paid internships, advanced training, or long-term creative work through BHAC programs after completing BAM.
