KQBH 101.5FM ARCHIVIST AND PROGRAMMING INTERN


DESCRIPTION

Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory is looking to add a creative, organized and self-motivated intern to join as a KQBH Archiving and Program intern. Intern will work with the Program Director and Station Manager for approximately 40 hours/week to support the station in archiving over 60 shows per week, managing the drive, and creating daily playlists. This position provides a real and up-close opportunity to learn about LPFM (Low Power FM) radio operations for hyper-local community radio station. KQBH 101.5 broadcasts live from 3pm -1am on the FM dial and streams 24-hours per day on the LPFM iOS and Android app. This internship will take place in-person in our Boyle Heights studios. This position will work approximately 30-40 hours a week.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A good grasp of meta data coding, streaming services, Audacity, Audition, or, Abelton. Basic understanding of audio equipment and broadcast boards. Knowldege of RadioDJ software is a huge plus.  The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in radio and broadcasting.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING INTERN


DESCRIPTION

The Social Media and Marketing Intern will assist with the communications, marketing, and social media aspect for Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory and KQBH 101.5 fm. The general scope of work will include assistance with the creation and implementation of social media updates, campaigns and marketing collateral. Primary duties of the intern will include assisting the Media Lab manager, networking with community members and program partners. This position will work for 400 hours, a minimum of 25 hours a week.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Interest in creative and media arts is essential. Interest community based arts nonprofits is strongly encouraged. Strong writing and communication skills, a must. Ability to work in a collaborative environment is needed. Knowledgeable capacity in social media platforms an image creating software and apps including: Canva Beautiful ai Adobe Suite Scribe Flipbook iPhone camera DSLR camera.
