Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory has won the FCC’s LPFM for the Los Angeles area. We will join our group of like-minded programming partners to bring local voices to the air. Our station will broadcast both on our 101.5 LPFM frequency, as well as digitally.
We will help local residents create and produce content for all of Los Angeles. In addition to the on-air content and talent we will develop, we will also run an engineering course for foster youth ages 16-22.
If you contribute to BHAC right now, your money will be used to help build our community radio station. The campaign includes “brick and mortar,” broadcasting and studio equipment, a tower, transmitter, fundraising materials and expenses (your money will not be used for the staff time but may be used for consultant fees), publicity costs, events related to the campaign, legal fees, license costs, contingency, and other similar things.
We believe the final cost of this project will be around $100,000, but it may be more or less depending on the results of tower studies and final decisions about the studios. Of this total, we hope to raise about $65,000 from individuals, businesses and special events. The rest will come from federal sources and foundations.
Any amount you contribute today will help us to create equitable media access through unique and meaningful programming.
